D. Graça Casculho Red Wine 2016/2017/2019

Tasting note:

The final blend is made from 3 harvest years 2016, 2017 and 2019. The year 2016 had adverse weather conditions for viticulture, a cool and rainy year, while 2017 was an exceptionally hot and dry year, with heat waves, forcing the harvest to be brought forward to dates that are unheard of in the Douro and finally 2019 was somewhat atypical, with a cool summer, the rain showing itself in August and delaying the ripening of the grapes, the end result being excellent with healthy grapes. The final Blend is the result of three harvests with their differences, but exceptional for the grape variety.

A very elegant ruby-coloured red. It has a complex and seductive aroma, in perfect harmony with notes of spices, red forest fruits, vegetable nuances and a captivating minerality. On the palate it surprises with its persistence, firm and defined attack, with a fresh, elegant and enveloping body. The aromatic complexity is confirmed in the mouth, complemented by floral touches, spices, forest fruits and a slightly vegetal finish. A collector’s wine, ready to drink and with enormous ageing potential and a truly unique profile.

Serve at 16ºC.
