1.1. These General Conditions in force are intended to regulate the terms and conditions under which the Online Store Service of the MERCADO MEDA (SÉRGIO ALEXANDRE BRÁS DA SILVA) will be provided.

1.2. By browsing this website, the User agrees to be bound by the following conditions of online sales, which are intended solely for online sales

1.3. The MERCADO MEDA may change the conditions of online sales freely and without prior notice.

1.4. The MERCADO MEDA maintains this site for the exclusive use of “end consumers”, i.e., only for purchases outside their field of activity, business or profession.

1.5. Only beverages may be purchased online in countries and other territories where the consumption of alcoholic beverages is legal and for people who have legal permission in their country of residence to buy and consume alcoholic beverages.

1.6. The User of this site should abandon it if:

  • not accept the Terms;
  • is not an “end consumer”;
  • you are not of legal age to buy and consume alcoholic beverages in your country and/or other territory;
  • if you are in a country or other territory where use and/or access to this site is not permitted.


2.1. The images illustrating each product on the MERCADO MEDA may differ from the product subsequently delivered, and these same products are also subject to stock disruption.

2.2. The MERCADO MEDA does not sell products with defects or of inferior quality to the standards of those existing on the market.

2.3. The main features of each product shown at www.mercadomeda.com can be found on each product page.

2.4. The products offered for sale at www.mercadomeda.com may not exactly match the actual products in terms of image and color due to the Internet browser and monitor used.


3.1. Under Portuguese law, all prices shown in the online store of MERCADO MEDA include the respective VAT rates in force.

3.2. Shipping fees are applied per order.

3.3. The exact price of the shipping fee will depend on the country where your order will be delivered and its weight.

3.4. Shipping may be free of charge for orders exceeding the minimum value set on the site, depending on the country or the campaign to which it relates.

3.5. Prices are given in euros, so please bear in mind that there may be divergence in price with regard to transport costs depending on the country of delivery of the order.

3.6. The total price specified in the final checkout menu includes taxes and shipping costs.

3.7. The prices fixed when confirming the order. You must pay only the exact amount specified in the order confirmation and must make individual payments for each order.

3.8. Price changes
3.8.1. The prices of the products presented on the site are subject to change. The MERCADO MEDA reserves the right to change prices without prior notice.

3.9. Price errors
3.9.1. Some products may present an inaccurate price, which is why the MEDA MARKET checks prices whenever it processes orders.
3.9.2. Please note that even if the website is updated with extreme attention it is possible that the price information on the website contains errors, so the prices shown are merely indicative and do not constitute a contractual offer.
3.9.3. If the actual price of the product is lower than the advertised price, the MERCADO MEDA will return the difference.
3.9.4. If the price is higher, the MEDA MARKET will inform the customer of this situation by e-mail and will wait, for a period of 15 calendar days from the date on which the e-mail was sent, his decision to accept the new price or cancel the order.
3.9.5. The promotions disclosed in the online store of MERCADO MEDA may not be applicable to physical stores.


4.1. To order from www.mercadomeda.com you must have an e-mail account and your browser must be configured to accept cookies and pop-ups, in order to enable you to enjoy all the online store’s MERCADO MEDA navigability conditions.

4.2. All orders placed on the site are subject to availability.

4.3. The MERCADO MEDA tries to ensure that all items offered for sale on the site are in stock.

4.4. To order
4.4.1. Find the products you want to buy;
4.4.2. Add the selected products to the cart;
4.4.3. Finalize the product selection;
4.4.4. Select the payment option;
4.4.5. Review your order;
4.4.6. Proceed to payment;
4.4.7. You will receive an order confirmation by email.
4.4.8. Your order is confirmed at the time you select the “Confirm Payment” (Checkout) button at the end of the purchase process.
4.4.9. You will automatically receive an email with your order number and all your order details.
4.4.10. By submitting the order form you accept the general conditions of purchase as well as other conditions existing at www.mercadomeda.com via links, including the general conditions and terms of use.
4.4.11. The formalization of the order alone does not constitute a reservation of the products.

4.5. Data verification
4.5.1. After receiving the order, the MERCADO MEDA reserves the right to confirm address, credibility and fraud verification data.
4.5.2. Regarding fraud checking, the MERCADO MEDA will perform partially automated checks on all orders to filter out unusual, suspicious or identified transactions as susceptible to fraud.

4.6. Right not to accept the order or cancel the purchase.
4.6.1. We reserve the right not to accept your order, or to cancel it even after its automatic confirmation.
4.6.2. We also reserve the right to cancel any purchase, even if it has already been accepted by the MERCADO MEDA, namely in the following situations:

  • the product is no longer available / in stock (payments will be returned);
  • the billing information is not correct or verifiable;
  • the order is flagged by our Security Systems as an incorrect order or an order susceptible to fraud;
  • the transfer for payment of the order has not been received by us within 5 working days after the acceptance of your order;
  • if there are indications or information that you may not be of legal age to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages as permitted in your country of residence;
  • in case of product pricing errors;
  • if it is not possible to deliver the order to the right place/country.

4.6.3. In any of the above situations the MERCADO MEDA will inform the client via e-mail.
4.6.4. If an order has been placed and payment has been made for products that are no longer available, the MERCADO MEDA will refund the amount paid for the unavailable items.


5.1. After the order is confirmed, an e-mail will be sent to the contact address registered in it by the customer at the time of formalization, with all details about delivery, invoicing, payment information, products and values.

5.2. If the customer does not receive the order confirmation email, they are requested to contact the MERCADO MEDA via email: info@mercadomeda.com or by telephone (+351)279 883 038 so that this notification can be sent again to the customer’s email address.

5.3. The MERCADO MEDA asks all customers to confirm its details.

5.4. If any of the elements of the order are missing, incomplete, or incorrect, and/or the customer wants to change some information, provided that the order has not yet been dispatched, the customer is requested to contact via email: info@mercadomeda.com or by phone (+351)279 883 038 as soon as possible to make the requested change internally.

5.5. Changes in details of orders already shipped will have to be analysed by the MERCADO MEDA team so that, together with the customer, the most suitable solution can be found.

5.6. All orders on MERCADO MEDA will only be processed after the effective receipt of payment, which must occur within a maximum of 15 calendar days from the date of order. After this deadline, the order will be automatically cancelled.

5.7. We do not accept any other payment methods than those mentioned. Please do not attempt to pay by any means other than those specified. If you do we cannot be held responsible for loss of payment or any other damage that may result.

5.8. If you pay by Credit Card we will deduct the amount due from your account as soon as your order is processed.

5.9. In the case of Credit Card payment, all details (e.g. card number or expiry date) will be sent by encrypted protocol to the company providing the remote electronic payment services, without third parties being able to access the information transmitted.

5.10. If you choose to pay by ATM Reference, the MERCADO MEDA will start processing the order after receiving the payment. This may take a few hours. Once 3 calendar days have passed since the order was placed and if we have not received any payment the order will be cancelled.

5.11. This information will not be used by the MEDA MARKET except to carry out the necessary procedures for the purchase or return, in case of return, in accordance with the exercise of the right of refund or for communication to the competent authorities in case of suspected fraud.

Order Security

6.1. The MERCADO MEDA online store uses one of the most secure security technology among the encryption platforms available on the market.

6.2. Your payment information will be encrypted from the moment the data is entered until your transaction is processed and will not be stored on a public server.

6.3. Although we use encryption software, the security of information and payments transmitted over the Internet or via e-mail cannot be guaranteed.

6.4. MERCADO MEDA shall not be liable for any damage suffered as a result of the use of electronic means of communication including, but not limited to, recurrent damage from failures or delays in the delivery of electronic communications, interception or manipulation of electronic communications by third parties or by computer programs used for communications or virus transmissions.

Shipping and Delivery

7.0. Except for rare exceptions outside the MERCADO MEDA, all orders completed and paid by Credit Card, ATM Reference, PayPal or MBWAY, will be shipped the same day, provided that the payment has been made by 12:00 noon on a working day. Orders paid after that time will be shipped the next business day except for products that indicate limited stock. The option of payment by bank transfer will have a confirmation period that may vary between 1 and 3 working days (depending on the country of origin of the transfer). In this payment method, the MERCADO MEDA has no control over the period of execution of the bank transfer, which is the responsibility of the Client’s Bank. In these cases, the order will be shipped on the day we receive confirmation of payment from the bank.
*The above mentioned payment methods are not available for all countries.
If we have any questions regarding the order (delivery address, payment confirmation, out of stock products, etc.), we will contact the customer through our Customer Support. We will wait for a response for three working days. The order will not be sent until we get a response to our message. If we do not get any response within this time period, we will cancel the order and refund the customer.

7.1. To send the orders to the requested address, should be chosen the shipping option – National Shipment (in case of Continental Portugal and Islands) and International Shipment (in case of other countries), provided that it is from a country mentioned in the list of countries available in the menu Delivery.

7.2. In general, after shipment, an order on the MERCADO MEDA takes time to be delivered:

  • 72 working hours in mainland Portugal;
  • Between 5 and 12 working days in Madeira and the Azores;
  • About 4 working days in Peninsular Spain;
  • About 6 working days in the rest of Europe;
  • Approximately 7 working days in the rest of the world.

7.3. The above deadlines are merely indicative and may vary depending on the form of payment, see conditions below, as well as in periods of promotions, sales, Christmas or stock rupture.
7.3.1.MERCADO MEDA cannot be held responsible for delays in the delivery of orders during festive seasons (Balances, Carnival, Easter, Christmas, New Year’s Eve) and, as a precaution, the customer should send an e-mail to info@mercadomeda.com to confirm that it will be delivered within the period stipulated on the website, www.mercadomeda.com.

7.4. The products will be delivered on working days, between 9am and 6pm. This service does not include the option of scheduling or appointment, so the delivery of the order will be made without prior contact by the carrier.

7.5. A delivery is considered to have been made or a product is considered to have been delivered with the signature of the delivery receipt to the address indicated by the consumer.

7.6. If the order is confirmed on a working day until 12h and payment is made by Credit Card or via Paypal, the order will be shipped the next working day (weekends and holidays are not considered working days).

7.7. The payment by ATM reference may take between 5 to 7 days to be received, and only after confirmation of payment will the shipment be processed.

7.8. The MERCADO MEDA shall not be held liable for failure to meet, or delay in meeting, delivery deadlines due to an event of force majeure, i.e. an event, act or omission, beyond its control

7.9. The MERCADO MEDA is not responsible for shipments made to countries where the respective law does not allow the entry of alcoholic beverages.

7.10. It is the customers’ responsibility to seize their orders and to pay customs fees, if any.

7.11. In case of return of the products, the MERCADO MEDA will return only the respective amount to them. In case of doubt the customer can contact the MERCADO MEDA before ordering.

7.12. The MERCADO MEDA has contracted services with specialized carriers for delivery in Portugal, Europe and most countries in the world. All efforts are made to meet shipping and delivery deadlines, however it should be noted that possible delays in deliveries may be external to the MERCADO MEDA, and in such cases it is not possible to guarantee exact delivery times.

7.13. After the shipment of the orders, the information for monitoring the shipment will be available in the account of customers who have made the order with registration and a notification is also sent via e-mail with the link information for monitoring the shipment for all customers registered and unregistered. If for any reason the customer does not receive the shipping confirmation is requested to contact the MERCADO MEDA via e-mail: info@mercadomeda.com or by phone (+351)279 883 038 to be sent again all available information on the shipment of the order.

7.14. After the shipping notification, customers must follow the shipping status through the link provided by the MERCADO MEDA, so that they are aware of the status up to the time of delivery of the order, since the MERCADO MEDA does not notify each change in shipping status.

7.15. Partial deliveries
7.15.1. If the order is for several products and MERCADO MEDA is unable to ship them at once due to unavailability of any of them, it will ship separately, upon prior notice to the customer to the e-mail indicated by him in the order.

7.16. Store delivery
7.16.1. Before submitting your order, you may choose to pick it up at our selected Shop which you will find at the time of selecting the shipping method of your order (On-site pick up).
7.16.2. You will receive, after requesting delivery to the store, a unique code via EMAIL that guarantees the security of your order and then allows you to collect it in the store.
7.16.4. The delivery of the order in store will be made only to the owner of the order, unless he, in writing, indicates a different person.
7.16.5. Under no circumstances will the order be delivered to a minor, or to persons who show signs of drunkenness or appear to have a mental abnormality.

7.17. Inspection at time of delivery
7.17.1. All products sent by MERCADO MEDA must be checked upon delivery.
7.17.2. If the customer verifies that the order is damaged, he must immediately return it to the transport company, duly justify the reason for the return in the carrier’s delivery note and immediately notify the MERCADO MEDA via e-mail: info@mercadomeda.com.
7.17.3. The MERCADO MEDA will refund the amounts paid for the order and transport as soon as the warehouse receives and completes the return process.

No receipt of order

8.1. In case of unsuccessful delivery attempt by the transport company due to absence, a notice will be left in the customer’s mailbox with the carrier’s indications.

8.2. If for any reason the customer cannot receive the order or pick it up at the place indicated by the carrier, he should contact the MERCADO MEDA so that together with it the most suitable solution can be found.

8.3. Any claim of non-receipt of order must be made within a maximum of 30 days from the date of placing the order. After this period, the MERCADO MEDA cannot be held responsible for the loss of the same.


9.1. In accordance with current legislation, the MERCADO MEDA recognises the right of all its customers to withdraw from contracts concluded with it, allowing them to return the products within 14 (fourteen) days.

9.2. Cancelling the order before shipment
9.2.1. The customer can cancel the order as long as it has not yet been shipped.
9.2.2. If the customer places an order and you wish to cancel it you must do so:

  • Check the order status via the “My Order” menu located at the top right of the website’s main page.
  • If the order status mentions “Registered” there is a possibility of the order being cancelled, you should contact our Customer Service and ask for its cancellation.

9.2.3. If the cancellation request is successful, the client will be notified by e-mail of this decision and the cancellation will be processed at no cost to the client.
9.2.4. If the request for cancellation is not possible, the products will be sent to the customer who, if he maintains his intention to cancel the order, must refuse to receive them.
9.2.5. The customer can always make the return according to the conditions and rules of return mentioned below


Return of products by withdrawal

10.1. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the products, you may return them within 15 calendar days of receipt, provided that
the product is in perfect condition, and if appropriate with its original packaging, accessories or promotional offers included, and accompanied by proof of purchase or invoice, and provided that it does not show up in any way or by any means adulterated.

Return of defective products

11.1. You have the right to return delivered products if they are found to be faulty. We require the bottle and cork returned to us before we can exchange. If this is confirmed by the specialized team of MERCADO MEDA. Returns are subject to a shipping charge, which are the responsibility of the person sending back the wines.

11.2. The return can be made within 15 calendar days after receipt of the order.

11.3. The MERCADO MEDA is not responsible for deficiencies arising from incorrect use, negligence, poor storage conditions or causes of force majeure.

11.4. Once the goods have been received at the MERCADO MEDA premises and after validation of their condition, their value will be returned according to the method of payment made by the customer.

11.5. You can also return your order at the MERCADO MEDA shop:

  • I should ask an employee to do the process for you; or
  • Do it directly through the site and then go to the store within 3 days to finish your return;
  • You will receive a unique code via sms and email that guarantees the identification and security of your order.

11.6. The MERCADO MEDA will proceed to your refund or shipment of the order, in case of exchange, being for this purpose notified of the status of your order by email/sms.

Conditions applicable to Promotional Coupons (discounts)

  • When used in accordance with the established rules, a promotional coupon entitles the user to a promotion/discount relating to the purchase of a specific product or for a set of products, during the period indicated/associated with the promotional code/promotional campaign.
  • Promotional coupons can only be used for online purchases made on the site. The sale, exchange or donation of a promotional coupon is not allowed. The customer carrying the promotional coupon may not upload or make available a promotional code on any website or other public form of offer, donation, sale or exchange. Promotional coupons may not be used for commercial purposes.
  • The promotional coupon is connected with the MERCADO MEDA brand The use of the promotional coupon in connection with another brand, company or name is not allowed. The use of the promotional coupon in an illegal, abusive or disrespectful manner, as well as in any other way that may damage the reputation of the MERCADO MEDA is also not permitted.
  • The use of the promotional coupon is subject to one use per product and per order. Promotional coupons cannot be combined with any other promotions or special offers.
  • Promotional coupons are not exchangeable/changeable for cash.
  • The MERCADO MEDA has no obligation to re-edit or refund promotional coupons. However, in the event that the MERCADO MEDA decides to re-edit or refund a promotional code, it needs to have access to the initial promotional coupon. To do so, you must keep a copy of your promotional coupon, otherwise it cannot be re-edited or replaced in case of loss.
  • In cases where the MERCADO MEDA reissues/refunds the promotional coupon, the discount of that value may only be applied to a purchase of an amount equal to or greater than the purchase at which the discount/promotional coupon was issued.
  • Without prejudice to any other rights, the MERCADO MEDA may have/have the right to immediately invalidate the promotional coupon if the MERCADO MEDA has reason to suspect that a promotional coupon is being used: in violation of the above assumptions, by usurpation or in other cases where the MERCADO MEDA has reason to do so.

12.1. The MERCADO MEDA shall only be liable for damages suffered by the customer if such damages result directly from a breach of contractual obligations arising from the MERCADO MEDA’s wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

Lei aplicável

12.2. These general conditions and all disputes arising in connection with these general conditions, including their validity, the use of the site or any purchase therein, shall be governed by Portuguese Law, namely by Decree-Law 24/2014 of 14 February, as amended by Law 47/2014 of 28 July.

12.3. All purchases made on the MERCADO MEDA website are subject to Portuguese law and any conflict or divergence of interpretation of the General Conditions of Online Sale shall be submitted to the competent Portuguese Court.

12.4. Under the terms and for the purposes of Article 18 of Law no. 144/2015, of 8 September, as amended by Decree-Law no. 102/2017, of 23/08, it is hereby informed that the ADR entity available is CNIACC – CENTRO NACIONAL DE INFORMAÇÃO E ARBITRAGEM DE CONSUMO, with the following contacts:
